Red Sox' Justin Slaten opens up about former teammate Kenley Jansen’s abrupt departure

As the Red Sox regular season was coming to a close, one player was noticeable absent in the locker room. All-Star closer Kenley Jansen was sent “home” by the team, according to manager Alex Cora. Jansen was placed on the injured list before the final series against the Rays at Fenway Park with right shoulder inflammation and would not pitch again.

Red Sox reliever Justin Slaten as asked about his relationship with Jansen during his rookie year and the closer leaving the team.
