The Boston Bruins traded forward Jack Studnicka on Oct. 27th to the Vancouver Canucks for two players. The move allows the 23-year-old to get consistent playing time with the Canucks.
Studnicka will join the Canucks and get an opportunity to play on center on their fourth line.
Bruins trade Jack Studnicka to the Canucks, team acquires two players in return
After his first practice with his new team, Studnicka was asked about the trade and his time with the Bruins. The Ontario native spoke very highly of his former veteran teammates in Patrice Bergeron, David Krjeci and Charlie Coyle.
“Those centers speak for themselves,” said Studnicka.
“You watch what they do and what makes them successful. I’m trying to bring that and that culture here with the compete level they bring every day.”
His new head coach Bruce Boudreau also spoke about Studnicka playing with the Bruins veterans.
“I mean, all he had to do was watch one or two of those centermen and if he learned anything, that should really be helpful,” said Boudreau.
The Canucks are loaded with young talent on their roster. Studnicka coming from Boston to Vancouver and watching veterans prepare and play would be welcomed to the locker room.

The Canucks are excited about landing Studnicka and the possibility of being a consistent NHL player.
“We like him,” Canucks president of hockey operations Jim Rutherford said to The Athletic. “We’re hoping he can find the consistency to be a regular NHL player. He’s got the ability to do that. You can never be strong enough at center ice, and he’s a two-positional player also. But yeah, this is a player that at one point was highly thought of, and just based on numbers, the timing was right and we had a chance to pick him up.”
