The Orioles’ Gunnar Henderson and Diamondbacks’ Corbin Carroll were voted unanimous winners of the Rookie of the Year awards in their respective leagues.
It was just the fifth time that both the AL and NL winners were unanimous. This is the first time since the Yankees’ Aaron Judge and Dodgers’ Cody Bellinger won the awards in 2017.
The 22-year-old Henderson spent time playing both shortstop and third base this season for the first place Orioles. He provided above-average defense playing both positions. He batted .255 with 28 homers, 82 RBIs, 100 runs, 29 doubles and 10 stolen bases.

Henderson earned all 30 first-place voted and 150 points. Guardians young right-handed hurler Tanner Bible finished second with 20 votes and 67 points.
Bibee was 10-4 with a 2.98 ERA over 25 starts. Red Sox first baseman Triston Casas was third with 25 points. Casas had a strong year for Boston following a slow start. He finished the season hitting .263 with 24 homers. The 6-foot-5, 244-pound slugger was much better after the All-Star break, batting .317 with 15 homers and 38 RBIs.
Carroll mashed this season for Arizona hitting .285 with 25 homers and 54 stolen bases during the regular season. He made the All-Star team and becoming the first rookie to join the 25-50 club. In addition, Carroll showcased his talent on a national audience playing in the World Series.
Due to the Orioles and DBacks players winning the awards, they’ll get an extra pick after the first round of next season’s MLB Draft.
