On this episode, Andrew Parker is joined by Marlins prospect Jakob Marsee.
Jakob talks about his promotion to Triple-A, being involved in the Luis Arraez trade last season, his elite speed on the bath paths, playing college ball at Central Michigan and more.
What was it like for Marsee to face Triple-A pitchers and kind of being in the clubhouse following the trade to the Marlins organization?
“It was fun, honestly,” said Marsee. “I think it just felt like free almost. It was just go play and just go be you. I think I had a lot of fun, and I had my struggles, obviously, in Double-A, and right before I got moved up, it was funny because I had just said to the hitting coach, ‘I was like, hey, it's nothing against you.’
“I just want to get back to just keeping things simple, just really dumbing down my swing. I just want to get back to the basics. I went up to Triple-A, and that's all I was trying to do: just win games. It was a lot of fun. Just being around those guys, too, you learn how to go about your business even more. Just seeing them, they're all super professional and everything, and then it was just a good group to be around too.”
