When talking about the future of the Red Sox it’s easy to think of guys like Mikey Romero, Marcelo Mayer, Blaze Jordan, and Ceddanne Rafaela. Not many mention Miguel Bleis. Sure, Bleis gets recognition, but this will be the season where he really makes himself.
Bleis, who is 19-years-old, is currently ranked as the second best prospect on my Top 5 prospect list being Mayer.
Bleis is known for his speed and ability to make plays that not everyone else can. He has great range moving forward, backwards and to his left or right. He truly is a five tool player.
This upcoming season, Bleis will most likely start on the Salem Red Sox. Along with Mikey Romero, Roman Anthony, Luis Perales and Luis Ravelo.
Beyond the Monster’s Jaxon Lahner gave you reasons why you should be paying attention to Bleis and others this upcoming season.
The Red Sox have five of the 2023 Top 100 Prospects according to Baseball America. Mayer ranks 10th, Triston Casas ranks 29th, Rafaela ranks 71st, Masataka Yoshida at 87 and Bleis rounds out the list at number 88.
Bleis also produces a tall appearance in the box which allows him to see the ball well.
Bleis will more than likely start and finish the season with the Salem Red Sox but a possible late-season promotion to Greenville is not out of the question.
