The Red Sox and veteran utilityman Danny Santana are in agreement on a minor-league deal according to the clubs transactions page on MLB.com.
Santana will join Triple-A Worcester, but prior to that, according to Chris Cotillo, he will head to the teams spring training facility in Florida.
Santana will report to Fort Myers first, then likely Worcester. Hasn’t played this season. Played 38 games in majors last year and was on postseason roster.
Santana, 31, has not yet played in a game this season, as he’s been serving an 80-game suspension following a positive PED test.
The Red Sox recently signed outfielder Abraham Almonte to a minor league deal.
