Red Sox outright reliever Tyler Danish, elects free agency
Danish finished with a 5.13 ERA in his only season in Boston
The Red Sox announced on Monday that right-handed reliever Tyler Danish was outrighted off the roster. Danish elected to become a free agent after one season in Boston.
The 28-year-old Danish went 3-1 with a 5.13 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and three holds in 32 outings last season.

The Florida native elected free agency because he had already been previously outrighted off a major league roster in his career. He could have accepted a minor league assignment to Triple-A Worcester, but opted to seek other opportunities.
The 6-foot, 200-pound hurler owns a lifetime 5.06 ERA at the major-league level and a 5.51 ERA in 107 outings, 39 of them starts at the Triple-A level. With no minor league options remaining, teams looking at Danish may view him as a future DFA candidate when constructing their roster.
Danish was acquired last offseason when the club signed him as a minor league free agent.
Rob Refsynder with the catch of the year for the Red Sox
He was originally drafted by the White Sox back in 2013. The 28-year-old righty has bounced around the majors since being drafted in the second-round by Chicago.
With the move, the Red Sox 40-man roster now sits at 39.
