When the Bucks acquired Damian Lillard from the Blazers last Wednesday, the deal shook the NBA landscape. Former Celtics guard Isaiah Thomas took to X (formerly Twitter) to give his instant reaction.
“Daaaaaaaaamn!!!!!!,” posted Thomas.
On Sunday the former guard took to X again and weighed in on the Celtics massive trade that landed them guard Jrue Holiday from the Blazers.
“Nvm Celtics favorite now in the east lol,” posted Thomas. “No big though. If they was smart you go get Boogie (Cousins) or Dwight (Howard) just to have a chance against Joker or Embiid (obviously we don’t know what Philly gonna do with harden),” added Thomas.
Thomas has not be shy on weighing in on Celtics moves in the past, the former guard continues to monitor what his told team has done since he was traded back in 2017 as part of the Kyrie Irving deal.
The Celtics acquired Holiday for Robert Williams III, Malcom Brogdon, a 2024 first-round pick acquired from the Warriors and their own 2029 unprotected first-round pick.
The 33-year-old is one of the best defensive guards in the league and will help bring his winning resume to the TD Garden.
Holiday is a five-time All-Defensive selection and a two-time All-Star. Last season, he was strong on offense for the Bucks, averaging 19.3 points, 7.4 assists, 5.1 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game.
