During his first professional season, Blake Aita has shown that he has a bright future
During the 2025 campaign, the Red Sox have received numerous encouraging outings from their prospects in the minors. That includes Blake Aita, who is quickly rising through the system. While the Tennessee native is only in his first professional season, he has already made it to High-A.
In 13 games, the former sixth-round pick has posted a 3.47 ERA and struck out 62 batters. He has also been hard to get on base against, limiting opponents to a .219 batting average. Regardless of the level, Aita has found a way to post quality outings.
The Kennesaw State product began the season in Low-A, where he dominated. After three starts with Salem, Aita was promoted to High-A, where he has been one of Greenville’s most consistent arms. In May, Aita had a 3.18 ERA in four starts. He followed that up with an even better June, during which he posted a 3.14 ERA in five outings. The talented righty has also struck out more batters this month, including a season-high eight on June 25th.Â
While Aita has impressed with his ability to miss bats, he has also pitched deep into games. Over the last two months, eight of his nine appearances have been at least five innings. His ability to provide quality outings has allowed Greenville to rest its bullpen.Â
Although the 22-year-old is not ranked as one of the Red Sox's top prospects, his play has been hard to ignore. He only seems to be getting better as the innings pile up. If he builds on his recent play, another promotion could be on the horizon for the 2024 draftee.
As the season continues, Aita will be a prospect to keep an eye on. He has been one of the organization's most consistent prospects, with no signs of letting up anytime soon.Â
