Sea Dogs throw combined no-hitters

In the series finale on Sunday, the Portland Sea Dogs finished off the set against the Akron Rubber Ducks with a combined no-hitter. Despite walking six batters, the Sea Dogs kept the Rubber Ducks hitless.
After David Sandlin struck out the side in the top of the 1st inning, he was immediately given a four run cushion by his offense. Sandlin ended his day after six strong innings, with the no-hitter still in tact. His performance today lowered his ERA to 3.90.
Sandlin’s final line: 6 IP | 0 H | 0 R | 3 BB | 9 K | 94 Pitches | 59 Strikes | 14 Whiffs
Christopher Troye was next man up, following up Sandlin’s six no hit innings with two of his own. Troye walked two batters, though kept the Rubber Ducks from getting a hit.
Troye’s final line: 2 IP | 0 H | 0 R | 2 BB | 0 K | 32 Pitches | 19 Strikes
Manager Chad Epperson left the no-hitter in the hands of Jonathan Brand entering the 9th. Despite hitting and walking a batter, Brand kept the Rubber Ducks not just scoreless, but also hitless. His inning of work lowered his season ERA to 2.45.
Brand’s final line: 1 IP | 0 H | 0 R | 1 BB | 2 K | 21 Pitches | 12 Strikes
It is the 8th no-hitter in Sea Dogs franchise history. In total, the offense provided 10 runs of support for their pitchers, powered by multi-hit games from Max Ferguson, Ronald Rosario, Drew Ehrhard, and Luis Ravelo.
