Former National League Rookie of the Year and National League MVP Cody Bellinger is a free agent after not being tendered a contract by the Dodgers.
The 27-year-old is hitting the free agent market coming off consecutive down years offensively at the plate. According to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, Bellinger is looking to re-establish his value with a one-year deal.

The 28-year-old’s expectation is to rebound and hit free agency again next season and secure a long-term deal.
Last season, Bellinger hit .210 with 106 hits, 27 doubles., three triples, 19 homers and drove in 68 RBIs while posting a .654 OPS. The Arizona native has not been the same offensively since his 2019 MVP season.
Teams will have interest in adding the centerfielder with the hopes he can figure it out offensively while under their watch.
Red Sox have reportedly expressed interest in free agent starter Corey Kluber
Bellinger’s Agent Scott Boras has stated he received offers for this client. “I’ve already been offered multi-years,” per Boras. “Most likely, because of his age, we don’t want a multi-year.”
The Dodgers non-tendered Bellinger to avoid paying him a salary of $18 million and higher in 2023.
The former Dodgers outfielder is still an excellent defender in the field and an above average base runner. While he may seem like a reclamation project for most teams, if Bellinger can find his swing again, he can provide tremendous low risk, high reward value for a team next season.
