The Boston Bruins are looking to bounce back from their worst losing streak in a little over four years tonight versus the Buffalo Sabres.
The team went into the three-day holiday break with a four-game losing streak, their longest since Dec. 7-12, 2019. The streak includes a 2-1 OT loss versus the New York Rangers, a 4-3 OT loss and a 3-2 loss against the Minnesota Wild, and a 5-1 loss versus the Winnipeg Jets.
The B’s hot start to the season has allowed them to remain first in the Atlantic Divison even after a bad losing streak. They also still boast the second-best record in the Eastern Conference.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are not too far behind, trailing the B’s by only four points in the division. If they don’t get it together soon, the Leafs could easily overtake first in the next few games.
The team hopes to clean up some issues affecting their play in the last few games. Blown leads, too many penalties, and a lack of offense are just a few of the problems the team has been plagued by.
The Bruins face the Buffalo Sabres tonight at KeyBank Center. The teams last met on Dec. 7, where the B’s suffered a 3-1 loss at home. They look to come out on top of the regular season series, which is tied 1-1, and improve to 20-7-6 overall.
Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.
