Bruins prospect could miss 'significant time’ following injury; team signs Woburn native to an amateur tryout contract
The Boston Bruins’ top prospect, Fabian Lysell, was having a strong season for the Providence Bruins. In 56 games, the former 2021 first-round pick had 15 goals and 50 points.
Lysell’s season will be placed on hold after suffering an upper-body injury against the Charlotte Checkers on March 23 after falling and colliding into the boards. The winger needed assistance to get off the ice, and P-Bruins head coach Ryan Mougenal shed some light on Lysell’s injury.
"He's gonna miss, probably, significant time, I would imagine. It's disappointing. He was starting to play really well,” said Mougenal to reporters.
The extent of the injury is unknown, nor is the amount of time he will miss.
