Bruins center to miss time following a lower-body injury
Bruins’ head coach Jim Montgomery didn’t provide an update on injured center Pavel Zacha following the game on Saturday night.
Zacha left the game with a lower-body injury he sustained during the Bruins 5-1 loss to the Islanders.
The 26-year-old saw 4:40 minutes of ice time before getting hurt in the first period. It’s not clear when he sustained the injury in the game.
“I just know it’s lower body. I don’t have any firm update on if it’s day-to-day or week-to-week,” Montgomery said to reporters.
Zacha has played center for the Bruins on either the first or second line this season. He’s scored 12 goals and has 24 assists in 57 games.
Boston had recalled Marc McLaughlin on an emergency basis prior to Saturday’s game. They’ll need to make another roster move to fill Zacha’s void while he is out of action.
