Breaking: Bruins extend David Pastrnak to an eight-year, $90 million deal
Bruins make a big commitment to their star
The Boston Bruins have had a historic season that is on pace to break the all time points record of the 1972 Montreal Canadiens. However, one cloud was hanging over the season which is the contract status of superstar winger David Pastrnak.
The Bruins have extended Pastrnak to an eight-year, $90 million deal, per Darren Dreger.
His new deal will carry a $11.25 million AAV. The deal includes a full no move clause for the first five years of the contract and a modified trade clause for the last three years.
The Bruins have committed to the 26-year-old who has 80 points in 60 games this season (42 goals and 32 assists).
This is the second notable contract extension this season after locking up Pavel Zacha to a four-year pact earlier this season.
The 6-foot-1, 195-pound winger has spent all nine seasons of his career in Boston, playing in a total of 570 games for the Bruins. In that time, Pastrnak has amassed 282 goals and 302 assists for 584 points.
