The Boston Bruins have placed forward Patrick Brown on waivers for purpose of assignment. Brown has served as a depth forward through the first 15 games of the season.
The veteran hasn’t recorded a point in the six games he started for the Black and Gold. He had four shots on goal while averaging 9:19 of ice time. If claimed off waivers, the 31-year-old would end up playing for his sixth team in eight years.
The Michigan native is in the first of a two year deal. He signed last offseason for $800K per season. It would seem likely a that he clears waivers and reports to the AHL Providence Bruins.
In 403 career AHL games, Brown has 63 goals and 91 assists for 154 points with the Charlotte Checkers, the Chicago Wolves and the Henderson Silver Knights.
Boston have a rematch at home against the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night. The Bruins are an NHL best 12-1-2. One of those overtime losses came against the Habs in Montreal.
