Adam Duvall remains locked in at the plate for the Red Sox, homered in four of his last six games
Red Sox outfielder Adam Duvall is on fire at the plate. The slugger has hit four homers in his last six games, including a go-ahead three-run blast with runners on the corners in the sixth inning, that gave the Sox a 5-4 on Saturday afternoon.
“I was thinking about it. I think I like to hit with runners on first and third,” Duvall joked with reporters after postgame. “I think that’s the perfect combination. So if we could do that more it would be great.”
Duvall’s key homer traveled 353 feet into the Green Monster seats of Dodgers lefty Julio Urías.
The 34-year-old has been red hot over the last six games 12-for-25 (.480) with four homers, four doubles, 11 RBIs, five runs, two walks. Three of the four homers for the Kentucky native has been three-run shots, with two of the homers including runners on the corners.
Prior to his homer off Urías, Duvall was 0-for-2 with a pop out and a strikeout.
“He had been throwing me that pitch in the earlier at-bats and he had some success with it but I felt like I was getting closer,” Duvall said. “I left a guy out there on third the at-bat before, which I wasn’t very happy about. But being able to come through there was huge. Just in the moment and as important as these games are.”
Duvall’s huge homer gave life to the Fenway crowd and ultimately set up an 8-5 win over the Dodgers. The win allowed the Red Sox to keep pace with the Astros, Blue Jays and Mariners who all won on Saturday. Boston is 3.5 games out of the final wild-card spot in the American League.
“You can feel the energy at this place, especially this weekend,” Duvall said. “The atmosphere has been unbelievable the last two nights.”

Not one RedSox player has a batting average of.300 or higher and the team OPS is .771 both sets of numbers are pathetic especially for a MLB team that wants its fan base to believe they will make the 2023 playoffs.
