In Greenville’s 9-4 win over Hudson Valley there were three different home runs hit, but the talk of the game was Wyatt Olds who had a career night for the High-A club.
Olds worked just four innings but he managed to strikeout a season and career high nine batters along the way. He only allowed one run on three hits.
This season Olds struck out seven hitters on April 22 in just three and a third innings of work. Olds also has four six strikeout games this year under his belt.
On the year, Olds has 85 strikeouts through 69 innings of work and owns a 1-6 record with a 6.39 ERA.
As for the offense, the balls were flying for Niko Kavadas, Nick Northcut, and Phillip Sikes, who all hit home runs.
Northcut hit his team-leading 25th homer where he also drove in two runs, adding to his team-leading 55 runs batted in on the year.
Kavadas hit his sixth homer of the year while Sikes hit his second homer of the year for Greenville.
