WooSox Hit Three Homers in Victory; Playoff Update
Casas, Stewart, Grullón all homer
On Sunday the WooSox were lifted to victory thanks to three home runs by Triston Casas, Christin Stewart and Deivy Grullón.
Casas, the Red Sox second ranked prospect hit his eighth home run of year for the WooSox. It was a solo shot.
Stewart also hit a solo shot, it was his seventh home run of the year for the Triple-A club.
Grullón hit a two-run home run, it was his second home run of the year.
Playoff update:
On the year, the WooSox are now 51-48 and sit three and half games out of first place in the International League East standings.
In order for the WooSox to make the playoffs they will need to keep winning games and hope that the clubs ahead of them lose.
The two top teams meet in a one-game playoff to determine the 2022 league champion on Saturday, Oct 1, at 9:05 p.m. That winner will then play the Pacific Coast League champion on Sunday, Oct. 2, at 7:05 p.m. ET, to crown the overall Triple-A Champion.
