This Beyond the Monster series is where we highlight the top waiver adds for Fantasy Football each week. We will review our top waiver add for each position. The purpose is to bring insight and entertainment to our readers.
Quarterback:
CJ Stroud- Depending on what type of league you are in Stroud might not be available. However, if he is now would be the time to pick him up if you are looking for a new signal caller for the rest of the season.
Stroud has now recorded back to back weeks of 20 fantasy points. In week two he threw for 384 yards and in week three he played mistake free football upsetting the Jacksonville Jaguars. His chemistry with rookie wideout Tank Dell is real. He has amassed 217 yards on 12 catches with two touchdowns in the last two games. Stroud faces a tough test with the Pittsburgh Steelers this week.
Running back:
De’Von Achane- Miami Dolphins running back Achane had 51 fantasy points in the 70-20 blowout against the Denver Broncos. He had an insane 203 yards on only 18 attempts with two touchdowns on the ground. Through the air he four catches for 30 yards and two more touchdowns.
Achane was a product of the blowout nature of this game. Starter Raheem Mostert had 45 fantasy points, as everyone on Miami seemed to have had great stat lines. Moving forward, Achane is a must add as at least a bench stash. The Dolphins offense is loaded and if Mostert was to ever get hurt, Achane could be an RB1.
Mostert has had his share of injuries in the recent seasons. On a week to week basis, Achane could be tough to rely on in closer contests as long as Mostert keep being productive.
Wide Receiver:
Josh Palmer- The number one pickup should be Dell, but since he was already mentioned, Palmer is another one to look for on your waiver wire. Mike Williams is out for the season for the Los Angeles Chargers. Coming into his third year with the Chargers he has chemistry with Just Herbert. Last week he scored the game winning touchdown and had seven targets as Williams was sidelined. When Austin Ekeler returns, he will certainly take away receiving opportunities, but Palmer will have a role.
Tight End:
Luke Musgrave- This pick is presuming Pharoh Brown has been already scooped up in your league (kidding). Musgrave had his best game as a rookie grabbing 6 catches for 49 yards. His numbers will not blow you away but for streaming purposes he faces the Lions on Thursday night who currently rank dead last when it comes to giving up fantasy points to the position.
Defense/Special Teams:
Indianapolis Colts- None of the defenses that seem readily available stick out as much as the Chiefs did against the Bears last week. The Colts however offer a steady floor as they have been a positive defense each week. They have recorded at least one fumble and two sacks in each of their first three games. Indianapolis takes on the Los Angeles Rams coming off a short week and their offensive line just gave up six sacks to the Cincinnati Bengals.
