Week 3 top Fantasy Football adds
One add you should look at making for each position heading into this weekend
Beyond the Monster is starting a series where we highlight the top waiver adds for Fantasy Football each week. We will review our top waiver add for each position. The purpose is to bring insight and entertainment to our readers.
Quarterback:
Baker Mayfield- Mayfield is coming off back-to-back weeks with over 16 fantasy points. He is a solid fill in/streamer for those who have Joe Burrow.
Cincy’s signal caller is nursing a calf strain and plays on Monday night complicating his status. Mayfield takes on the Philadelphia Eagles Monday night as part of a double header, fitting that timeline. Mac Jones and Kirk Cousins have gotten over 20 fantasy points against the Eagles in the first two weeks.
Running back:
Jerome Ford- Ford is the top waiver wire choice this week amongst all positions (unless Rams Kyren Williams is still available). Nick Chubb for the Cleveland Browns suffered a serious knee injury and will be out for the season.
Ford got 15 carries in week 1 with Chubb. Without Chubb for over half of Monday nights game in Pittsburgh, Ford racked up 24 fantasy points, highlighted by a 69 yard run as he was just short of the goal line. Head Coach Kevin Stefanski said this morning that Ford will be the featured back even with the Browns looking to add another running back by free agency or trade.
Wide Receiver:
Robert Woods- Woods is a known reliable veteran. He has amassed ten and nine targets in week 1 and 2 respectively, leading to double digit performances. With little depth for the Texans at receiver and the fact they trail most games, Woods is a solid volume play. For streaming purposes he is going against the Jaguars this week who is in the middle of pack giving up fantasy points to wideouts.
Tight End:
Kylen Granson- Granson is one of three tight ends that gets snaps for the Indianapolis Colts, however he lead the group with 37 snaps and got his first career touchdown. The Colts take on the Baltimore Ravens who just gave up four catches on 34 yards to Dalton Schultz of the Houston Texans.
Granson will not impress anyone with his production, but he has streaming appeal with potential upside as he builds a rapport with rookie quarter back Anthony Richardson.
Defense/Special Teams:
Kansas City Chiefs- This is all about the matchup. The Chiefs defense has been average through the first two weeks in fantasy, but they take on the Chicago Bears this week. The Bears gave up 6 sacks in week two and 4 the week before. They also, gave up a defensive touchdowns in both weeks as well.
