Wax Pack Wisdom: Baseball History Through Cards
A place for baseball history told through cards breaks and the cards we love.
[SHORT VERSION: If you love baseball cards and baseball history, please subscribe to Wax Pack Wisdom, a new YouTube channel started by myself and my wife. We do wax pack breaks of vintage (and new) baseball cards and talk about the history of the greatest sport ever! So far we’ve done breaks from the 1970s through 2018.
Follow us on Twitter and Instagram too.
Huge shoutout to BTM founder Chris Henrique for his support and for letting me promote this content here!]
I’ve loved baseball since I was six years old. From that time until now, I’ve been endlessly fascinated by the greatest sport in the world, its history and its stories.
My love for baseball has led to regular gigs writing for baseball websites (namely this this one) and talking on a baseball podcast.
Before all that happened, baseball cards were my window into the game’s past. Small cardboard rectangles represented an entire universe to me.
As a kid, those cards were my favorite things. I know I’m not alone.
In 2022, on something of a whim, I started opening old packs of baseball cards in videos on my personal Instagram. I used my knowledge of MLB and baseball history to talk about who was inside each pack. It was fun, but I knew it could be more.
My wife Abby and I launched Wax Pack Wisdom earlier this summer. It’ll be a place where we collect and share the stories of baseball through the ages—the good, the bad, the strange, the funny, everything—through baseball cards.
Please subscribe to our Wax Pax Wisdom YouTube channel where we’ll be posting new content regularly so you won’t miss a thing.
So far to date we’ve posted six videos, and we’ll be promoting the content through BTM when we post new content going forward. Here’s what we’ve published so far:
