UFC Announces Main Events for Upcoming Fights
UFC President Dana White took to Instagram Wednesday night to announce some absolute bangers for the April and May Pay-Per-Views.
In the main event at UFC 314 in Miami, #1 ranked and former champion Alexander Volkanovski will face #3 Diego Lopes for the now-vacant Featherweight Championship. Current champion Ilia Topuria, who had one of the best calendar years of any fighter, will move up to the lightweight division.
Also on the same card, in a thrilling co-main event, #7 ranked lightweight Michael Chandler will take on #12 Paddy Pimblett in a 5-round battle. Freshly signed former Bellator Champion Patricio Pitbull will make his UFC debut against #5 Yair Rodriguez. Additionally, #10-ranked Welterweight Geoff Neal will take on #13 Carlos Prates in a highly anticipated matchup.
For the May Pay-Per-View in Montreal, Canada, Welterweight Champion Belal Muhammad will defend his title against #4 Jack Della Maddelena. Suspected contender Shavkat Rakhmonov is unfortunately injured and unable to compete. In the co-main event, Women's Flyweight Champion Valentina Shevchenko will defend her title against #2-ranked Manon Fiorot.
Dana also revealed that in the Welterweight division, #1 Leon Edwards will face #5 Sean Brady on March 22nd in London.
With these incredible matchups, the rankings across multiple divisions will be shifting in the next few months, making for some must-watch fights!
