Triston Casas explains his Komodo dragon tweet, walk-up music and shows off his personality with fans
Triston Casas comes into Red Sox camp looking fit, he still has his mustache which he debuted at Winter Weekend and he’s painted his finger and toe nails.
The 23-year-old is beginning to show his personality to Red Sox fans in person and on social media.
If you follow Casas on Twitter, he will tweet out incredibly random tidbits. While at Fenway South, Beyond the Monster was able to have catch up with Casas and asked him about one tweet in particular.
“Bearded, Komodo , flies… but why can’t any of them blow fire out of their mouths…,” tweeted Casas.
“Dragon’s can blow fire out of them and if they can fly and blow fire out their mouth’s… their big and cause destruction. Even Godzilla got big. The bearded dragon, the dragon flies, I feel like an alligator looks more like a dragon, but it doesn’t fly, but a bearded dragon doesn’t do anything.”
Casas also talked about how he likes to listen to music in the car and envision what that would sound like as walk-up music at Fenway Park.
He didn’t mention anyone particular song, but said, “I’ll put a walk-up song on for my friend, and be like ‘ohh I think I’m going to do this,’ and be like ahh maybe this doesn’t hit,” laughed Casas.
The Florida native’s personality is infectious, he walked around Jet Blue complex this week with a constant smile on his face, laughing with his teammates when taking batting practice. He was incredibly accommodating with his time interacting with kids and signing autographs for them in between drills and rotating fields.
At the end of talking with Casas privately near the field where the pitchers worked out, a swarm of fans began to migrate over. He smirked and said, “I need to sign now guys, this was fun.”
Casas showed off his wit and humor when two older male fans approached yelling, “Triston, Triston.” The older gentleman hands Casas a baseball and says, “what’s your last name again?”
Casas looked over at the group of fans, grabbed his ball and says, “Dalbec” with a massive smile and smirk. The people around laughed and Casas went on his way back to the workouts.
The takeaway, Casas is an incredibly talented baseball player who has a unique personality and confidence to operate in his own style and space.
