Triston Casas crushes his eight home run, getting hot at the right time for the WooSox
Casas has two home runs since coming off the IL on July 22
Triston Casas is starting to get his power stroke at the plate for the Triple-A Worcester Red Sox. Following coming off the injured list on July 22, Casas went 0-for-9.
Since then, one of the Red Sox top prospects has started to hit home runs for the WooSox. On Friday night Casas hit his seventh homer of the season.
Casas power surge has continued into the weekend.
On Sunday, Casas hit his eighth bomb of the year. The solo shot came in the top of the third inning, giving the WooSox a 1-0 against the Buffalo Bisons.
The 22-year-old is starting to hit a good time. With the Major League Baseball trade deadline approaching on Tuesday August 2nd, Casas could get the call to the bigs very soon.
Boston is likely to trade many of the veterans on the roster. If that happens, Casas could finally see time with the major league club. The Red Sox are in need of first base man other than the likes of Franchy Cordero and Bobby Dalbec, even though he has heated up at the plate.
