Tanner Houck, Masataka Yoshida make Rehab Appearance for Double-A Portland Sea Dogs
On Friday night, Tanner Houck made his fourth rehab appearance, his first with the Portland Sea Dogs. This rehab appearance showed much different results than the first three.
Totaling just 6.1 IP in his three rehab starts for the Triple-A Woo Sox, Houck was able to work 5 innings for the Sea Dogs. Scheduled for just 70 pitches, the righty entered the at bat against his last batter of the top of the fifth sitting at just 67 pitches. The fifth inning was likely his best of the night, getting two bookend strikeouts to finish off his outing.
Throughout the start, there was plenty of contact, some loud, some soft. A mixed bag appearance for the 2024 All-Star.
5 IP | 3 H | 0 R | 0 BB | 0 K
74 Pitches | 46 Strikes (62%) | 11 Whiffs (14.8%)
Masataka Yoshida, making his third rehab appearance, finished the night 1-4 with a single and a run scored. Yoshida was designated hitter in his first game with the Sea Dogs.
Yoshida was pinch-hit for in the bottom of the eighth inning.
