The Greenville Drive end their losing streak with a win on Sunday
The Greenville Drive entered Sunday with a 10-game losing streak after starting the season 7-3. Brian Van Belle got the start on Sunday for the Drive and got run support to help build some momentum.
Van Belle worked 5.2 innings and allowed four runs on seven hits. The big story though was that he got seven strikeouts to earn his first win of the season. He now has 24 strikeouts over 26.1 innings of work. He lowered his ERA to 6.49 on the year.
Three different home runs and run production help the Drive as they blasted three different homers and combined for 10 RBI.
Nicholas Northcut went one-for-five with a home run, his eighth of the year, and drove in three runs, bringing his total RBI to 16 on the year.
Alex Binelas went two-for-four with a home run, his seventh of the year, and drove in two runs, bringing his total RBI to 16 on the year.
Gilberto Jimenez went two-for-five with a home run, his fourth of the year, and drove in one run, bringing his total RBI to 11 on the year.
Driving in the runs for the Drive was Ceddanne Rafaela as he went two-for-four with four RBI.
The Drive (8-13) will be back in action on May 3 against the Rome Braves (13-8) with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 P.M.
