Source: Red Sox promote Niko Kavadas and Nathan Hickey to High-A Greenville
The Red Sox will promote prospects Niko Kavadas and Nathan Hickey to High-A Greenville, source can confirm.
Kavadas has had a great start to his season with the Salem Red Sox. In 59 games this season, he has hit .287 with 55 hits, 18 doubles, one triple, 14 homers, 48 RBIs and a 1.062 OPS.
The power-hitting Kavadas was selected by the Red Sox in the 11th round back in 2021.
Hickey has played in 41 games this season for the Salem Red Sox. He has hit .271 with 12 doubles, seven homers, 39 RBIs and owns a .936 OPS at the plate.
Hickey was selected in the fifth round back in 2021. He was drafted out of the University of Florida. According to Baseball America, Hickey is “A left-handed batter, Hickey's bat is considered ahead of his glove, with ‘easy plus raw power.’”
