According to a source, Noah Dean will make his first start of the 2023 season for the Salem Red Sox on Friday against Delmarva.
Dean was selected in the fifth round of the 2022 MLB Draft and later signed with the organization on a $322,500 sign-on bonus.
In our exclusive interview with the Salem Red Sox General Manager Allen Lawrence he told us that Dean would be used more frequently as a starting pitcher rather than a relief pitcher during his duration with the Salem Red Sox.
All signs point to Dean being the second man in line to pitch for Salem behind Luis Perales every fifth day.
Dean will be making his pro debut roughly just four hours from where he went to college at Old Dominion to play baseball.
The 22-year-old is ranked as the No. 41 prospect with SoxProspects.
