Shane Drohan works six strong innings
Shane Drohan earns his first victory of the season for Greenville
The Greenville Drive have found themselves back on their winning ways after winning two straight games. On Tuesday afternoon, the Drive defeated the Rome Braves, 4-2 behind a strong outing from starter Shane Drohan.
Drohan worked six innings of three hit ball allowing one run and collected a season high of nine strikeouts along the way. Of the 84 pitches thrown, 56 were called strikes. That’s a 66.6 strike percentage during his outing.
On April 21, Drohan did manage to collect eight strikeouts for Greenville where produced almost identical numbers as his performance on Tuesday. During that game against Winston-Salem, he worked six innings of four hit ball allowing just one run.
So far this season Drohan has worked 25.1 innings 17 runs, 15 earned on 25 hits with 30 strikeouts. He holds a 1-2 record with a 5.33 earned run average.
If the outings line up accordingly, Drohan will likely start again on May 7 or May 8 against Rome. But that could always change.
Greenville will look to continue their winning ways against Rome on Wednesday, May 4. First pitch, depending on weather, is slated for 2:05 P.M.
