Seattle Seahawks (1-0) at Patriots (1-0), 1 p.m. - New England looks to win Mayo's home opener as head coach
The Patriots will host the Seahawks in their 2024 home opener and will be looking to start 2-0 for the first time since 2019. Last week, New England stunned the Bengals, defeating them 16-10 in Week 1.
The Seahawks defeated the Patriots 35-30 in their last meeting back on Sept. 20, 2020, at Century Link Stadium in Seattle.
The Patriots did not have any turnovers in the season-opener at Cincinnati. If the Patriots repeat that feat this week, it will be the first time they do so in back-to-back games since the 2022 season when they went three-straight games without a turnover – versus N.Y. Jets (11/20), at Minnesota (11/24) and vs. Buffalo (12/1).
Running back Rhamondre Stevenson rushed for 120 yards in the season-opener at Cincinnati. If he rushes for over 100 yards this week, it would be his first time to do so in back-to-back games. He would also be the first Patriots running back with back-to- back 100-yard rushing games since RB Damien Harris accomplished the feat in 2021 with 101 yards rushing vs. Dallas (10/17).
Edge rusher Keion White registered a career-high 21⁄2 sacks in the win at Cincinnati in the season-opener. He will look to become the first Patriots player with at least two sacks in back-to-back games since linebacker Joshua Uche in 2022 when he had two sacks vs. Buffalo on Dec. 1.

Roster Moves
Patriots elevated OL Michael Jordan
The Patriots placed offensive lineman Chukwuma Okorafor on the exempt/left squad list Saturday afternoon. The designation was settled less than one week after Okorafor was benched for poor play in the Patriots' season-opening road 16-10 win over the Bengals.
New England placed Okorafor on the exempt/left squad because he is “reconsidering if he still wants to play football,” according to MassLive’s Karen Guregian. Typically, players are placed with this designation because they leave the team without notice. Okorafor's agents have been in contact with the Patriots about their client's status.
The Patriots signed Okorafor to a one-year, $4 million deal back in March after the 2018 third-rounder spent the first six seasons of his career with the Steelers.
Patriots rookie Javon Baker to make his debut vs. Seahawks
Javon Baker is active for the first time as a member of the New England Patriots.
The fourth-rounder was a healthy scratch for the season opener in Cincinnati. Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo opted to scratch Kayshon Boutte in favor of Baker. Boutte was active for the Bengals game but he didn’t play a snap.

Patriots in the media
Bill Belichick, who barely said anything about the Patriots following their Week 1 win over the Bengals, nominated Keion White for his “Football Guy” of Week 1 while on “Inside the NFL.”
“I gotta give it to Keion White,” Belichick said. “First of all, I love Keion White. He can play outside. He can play inside. He’s tough, strong, and can really play the run. He can play the pass. He just needs a little bit more experience and technique. You saw what he did in Week 1.”
White, whom Belichick drafted in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft, recognized his performance as one of the best amongst defensive players in Week 1. He recorded four total tackles and 2.5 sacks, already surpassing the one he had as a rookie in 2023. He also had three run stops, per Pro Football Focus.
Former Patriots’ Chris Long called White an “absolute monster” after forcing a fumble against the Bengals on the first passing play of the game.
“This guy wrecked the game the other day,” Long said. “In the second play of the game, he goes with an inside move and takes the ball off [Joe] Burrow. This guy has no gloves. He wears no gloves. Bill says he doesn’t smile. This is the definition of a football guy. I love this kid. He can win all up and down the line.”
