The Salem Red Sox and Delmarva Shorebirds gave the fans in attendance a very memorable game on Sunday afternoon.
The two clubs combined for 23 runs and 29 hits in Salem’s 12-11 walk off win in the ninth inning.
At the top of the order, Salem’s Eddison Paulino went three-for-five with two runs scored and two RBI. While Brainer Bonaci who was batting second went one-for-four with two runs scored and one RBI.
The heavy lifting came from Blaze Jordan, who hit home runs five and six on the year. The highly-touted 19-year-old prospect went three-for-five with two runs scored and four RBI on the evening.
Nathan Hickey on the other hand also lifted Salem as he produced five RBI on a three-for-four evening and scored two runs.
The most important RBI for Hickey came in the ninth inning with the bases juiced with one out. Hickey took the pitch that was delivered down the middle of the zone and chopped it down the first base line that scooted into right field plating Paulino.
Salem’s pitching staff combined for 12 strikeouts on the night.
Salem continues their long home stand on Tuesday as they welcome the Fredericksburg Nationals to town for a six-game series.
