RHP Luis Perales named starter for Salem Red Sox on Opening Day
Perales gets the nod on Opening Day
According to a source on Wednesday, right-handed starting pitcher Luis Perales was going to get the start for the Low-A Salem Red Sox. That report was later confirmed to Beyond the Monster by someone inside the Salem Red Sox organization.
Perales, who is ranked as my 11th ranked prospect, did get some action with the Salem club last year.
Perales appeared in four games last year for the Salem Red Sox and went 0-1, 3.38 ERA with 16/11 K/BB allowing 10 hits over 10.2 innings of work.
Liam Carroll, who joins the Salem Red Sox as the first-year skipper said to the media on Wednesday that everyone would be getting developed.

“Everybody’s going to get developed, they each have individual development plans.”
Perales will be considered as the ace of the rotation for Salem. As of now Salem will work with four main pitchers and work in a utilization role for the fifth man in the rotation.
The rest of the rotation will look like this, with Perales being the top guy.
LHP Noah Dean
RHP Elmer Rodriguez-Cruz
LHP Dalton Rogers
Opening Day first pitch for Salem versus Delmarva is scheduled for 7:05 pm and can be viewed on the MiLB.tv app.
