Triston Casas to Return to Red Sox Lineup on Thursday (report)
Casas is back ... on Thursday
Triston Casas was scratched from the Red Sox lineup on Tuesday against the Orioles due to an apparent pinky injury.
Casas was originally penciled into the Red Sox lineup against the Orioles on Tuesday afternoon. The 23-year-old didn’t seem concerned about his injury, according to The Boston Globe’s Alex Speier.
The injury to his pinkie occurred while he was catching a medicine ball while working out. He jammed it and it’s slightly swollen.
According to Speier, Casas will return to the lineup on Thursday against the Pirates.
Casas has two homers and seven RBI in 41 at-bats with a slash line of .341/.391/.952 this spring.
