Casas, 22, has not been in action for the Triple-A club since May 17 when he went down with an ankle sprain.
Casas did make a rehab stint with the FCL club where he posted a slash line of .429/.529/.857 over four games with a home run and three runs batted in.
On the year with the WooSox, Casas has slashed .248/.359/.457 over 36 games with six home runs and 22 runs batted in.
This comes at a good time for the Red Sox who are actively shopping for a first baseman. According to reports, the Sox have shown interest in Mets’ Dom Smith.
The future of Franchy Cordero and Bobby Dalbec seems very bleak with the Boston Red Sox.
