It’s been almost a month since Connor Seabold has last pitched in a game for the Red Sox Triple-A affiliate Worcester Red Sox.
The 14th ranked prospect was scheduled to pitch for Worcester on May 20 against Scranton Wilkes-Barre, but he was scratched from that start due to a pectoral strain.
However, Quinn Riley, of woosoxwatch.com stated that Seabold had been throwing live BP, racking up 30 pitches.
In his last outing Seabold tossed six innings of one hit ball all while striking out 11 for the WooSox on May 15 against Rochester.
The 11 strikeouts is the most from the righty this season. Prior to reaching double-digit strikeouts, Seabold’s closest attempt came on May 4 when he struck out eight over seven innings of work.
Seabold is on the 40-man roster, and has gone 3-1 with a 2.45 ERA with 37 strikeouts for Worcester.
Katie Morrison, who also covers the WooSox for MassLive, also gave a report on the righty.
The timetable for return is to be determined.
