Report: Brian Hoyer expected to start for the Patriots, Mac Jones telling teammates he might play
The drama surrounding who will start for the Patriots on Sunday against the Packers continues. According to Karen Guregian of the Boston Herald, Brian Hoyer is expected to start for New England. Mac Jones on the other hand has said his sprained ankle is getting better and might play.
Jones is expected to go through pre-game warmups and it will then be determined if he’ll be able to play.
The initial reports this week said Jones suffered a severe high-ankle sprain, the latest report indicates that the severity of Jones’ injury was overblown.
The former Alabama quarterback hasn’t practiced at all this week. Jones did return o practice on Friday. Mike Girardi of NFL Network has reported that Jones has been part of the game planning process with the coaches.
