Red Sox will call up Connor Seabold to start against the Reds
Connor Seabold will take the mound for the Red Sox for the first time since July 7, when he makes a start against the Reds.
Boston will promote the right-hander from Triple-A Worcester, manager Alex Cora told reporters on Tuesday.
Seabold has made three starts with the Red Sox this season. He is 0-2 with an 11.91 ERA, with 13 strikeouts, 2.56 WHIP in 11 1/3 innings.
Seabold’s last start for the Red Sox came against the Yankees. The righty lasted three innings, he left the game due to forearm tightness. He has dealt with arm troubles since the 2021 season.
The 26-year-old hasn’t been impressive statistically in the majors. He has put together a nice body of work during his minor league career. The Laguna Hills, Calif. native owns a 23-15 record, 3.46 ERA, 356 strikeouts, 1.09 WHIP over 343 innings in 72 games.
