Red Sox vs. Yankees: Tanner Houck gets third start, Orioles split-squad, lineups, how to watch
The Red Sox will host the Yankees from JetBlue Park on Sunday afternoon. The game can be seen on NESN+ and will start at 1:05 p.m.
Boston will also travel to play the Orioles in a split-squad game in Sarasota. This game will not be televised.
Tanner Houck continues to eye a spot in the rotation
Tanner Houck will get the start for the Red Sox against the Yankees, this will be his third start of the spring. The right-hander has allowed two runs, three hits, six walks while punching out six batters. He’s pitching 4 2/3 innings between his first two starts.
Red Sox manager Alex Cora liked what he saw in Houck in his last outing against the Braves.
“He threw strikes, made some adjustments on the mound and had good stuff,” manager Alex Cora said. “[Gave up a] homer, but that’s going to happen when you’re aggressive in the zone; we’ll take that. As far as stuff, I saw a lot of swings and misses, and he used a split-change a few times today and kept them off-balance, so that was a good one.”

Kutter Crawford opposes the Orioles
Kutter Crawford will make another spring start on Sunday afternoon against the Orioles. Like Houck, Crawford is also looking to break camp as a member of the Red Sox rotation.
He’s appeared in two games, making one start, posting a 0.00 ERA over five innings with five strikeouts.
“We’re going to stretch him as a starter and then we’ll see,” said Cora. “Today he threw two (innings). I think he starts next week. So for now, we’ll stretch him out as a starter and see where we’re at later on.”
With Garrett Whitlock, Brayan Mata and James Paxton rehabbing and likely to not make the Opening Day roster, Crawford is in prime position to continue to impress.Boston has been stretching out Crawford as a starter this spring.
