Red Sox starting lineup revealed for exhibition game against Northeastern
The first Red Sox lineup of 2023 is here. Most of the regulars will be in the lineup tomorrow for the first action of the year. There will be a couple of “debuts” in a Red Sox uniform on Friday, with Masataka Yoshida and Jorge Alfaro being in the lineup for the first time in their Red Sox tenure.
Boston’s lineup against Northeastern:
CF Jarren Duran
3B Rafael Devers
SS Kiké Hernández
LF Masataka Yoshida
RF Alex Verdugo
DH Jorge Alfaro
1B Triston Casas
2B Enmanuel Valdez
C Stephen Scott
SP Oddanier Mosqueda
This lineup features at least five potential starters that should be in the starting lineup come opening day. It will be good to see Valdez get some time at second and to see Duran try to latch on to an outfield bench spot. I would expect to see almost all of the catchers during the first week of games.
