It was announced on Tuesday, July 26, that the Boston Red Sox had reached agreements with six of their 2022 MLB Draft selections.
Those signings were made official by SoxProspects via Twitter.
Mikey Romero, Cutter Coffey, Alex Hope, Caleb Bolden, Jonathan Brand and Isaac Coffey all reached deals with the Red Sox.
The Red Sox gave Romero (first pick) a $2.3 million signing bonus and Coffey (second pick) a bonus worth $1.8475 million, according to The Athletic’s Chad Jennings.
The Red Sox also reached agreements with two undrafted free agents Matthew Donlan and Bryant Zayas.
This means that the Red Sox have 15 draftees left to negotiate with and sign before the deadline on August 1.
However, according to Alex Speier of the Boston Globe, the Red Sox reached an agreement with their No. 79 pick in the 2022 draft, outfielder Roman Anthony, pending a physical.
Anthony’s deal, according to Speier, is worth $2.5 million, well over the $820,000 allotted for the slot.
