Red Sox sign Cam Booser to a minor-league deal
The Red Sox added more left-handed depth within the system agreeing to terms with Cam Booser on a minor-league deal.
The 30-year-old spent time with the Diamondbacks organization in 2022. Booser posted a 6.48 ERA and 6.60 FIP with 30 strikeouts to 22 walks in 19 relief appearances (25 innings) for Double-A Amarillo. He was later released by the Sod Poodles in July.
Following his release, Booser hooked on with the Lancaster Barnstormers of the Independent Atlantic League. The southpaw appearing in 13 games and pitched to a 4.63 ERA with 15 strikeouts and six walks in 11 2/3 innings.
Booser who will turn 31 in May will be assigned to Double-A Portland. He will join Skylar Arias and Brendan Cellucci as potential left-handed relief options this upcoming season. Arias joined the Red Sox organization as a minor league free agent this offseason.
