Red Sox re-sign Travis Shaw to a minor-league deal
The Red Sox have re-signed Travis Shaw to a minor-league deal, per MassLive’s Chris Cotillo. Shaw returned back to the Red Sox last season after he was claimed off waivers from the Brewers.
In 28 games with the Sox last season, Shaw hit .238 with three home runs and 11 RBIs. He would finish the season hitting .200 with nine home runs and 44 total hits between both clubs.
The Mayor of Ding Dong City was a fan favorite during his time in Boston. Shaw will provide the Red Sox depth at the major-league level and a left-handed compliment first baseman Bobby Dalbec. Shaw can also provide some depth at second and third base for Boston.
