Red Sox prospect Tyler Miller rewarded for his stellar play
Following an encouraging 2023 campaign, Red Sox prospect Tyler Miller has picked up where he left off. The former ninth-round pick has been on fire at the plate while showing some power. Due to his play, Miller recently added an impressive accomplishment to his resume.
On Monday, the Auburn Product was named the South Atlantic League Player of the Week for the week of April 22-28. During that stretch, he went 9-18 at the plate and drove in four runs. He also didn’t strike out once.
Due to his recent surge at the plate, Miller is hitting .295 through 61 at-bats. While the season is far from over, Miller has been hard to keep out of the lineup and is making the most of his opportunities. That is an encouraging signing during his second season with Greenville.
Although Miller is not ranked as one of the Red Sox’s top prospects, his play has been hard to ignore. The talented 24-year-old has shown great discipline and made hard contact. He has also added three multi-hit games to his resume. Entering play on Wednesday, he ranked third on the Drive in batting average and was tied for second in home runs.
Additionally, Miller has been excellent in the field. While splitting time between second and third base, he has only committed one error and has turned seven double plays. Miller’s ability to play multiple positions has only increased his value.
As long as Miller builds on his success, a promotion could be on the horizon. He has shown the ability to make adjustments and has quietly been a bright spot in the minors. In an organization loaded with infield talent, Miller has started to make a name for himself through the first few weeks of the 2024 campaign.
