The owner for the Boston Red Sox made a $25 million dollar transaction on Friday. John Henry purchased a waterfront Nantucket estate, according to a deed recorded in Nantucket County.
This will not be the only deal Henry will make as he is expected to finalize a deal for an adjoining property, according to the Nantucket Current. Once both property deals are completed, it will be worth a whopping $42.5 million.
The owner of the Sox, Boston Globe, Liverpool Football Club and the Penguins new properties will have 10 total bedrooms, 15 bathrooms and will total 18,100 square feet.
Boston’s success has allowed Henry to make this expensive purchase. This deal for Henry’s new property could set a Nantucket record. The last record property sold for $36 million.
The Red Sox are currently worth $5.07 billion, according to Sportico. Considering that Henry bought the team for $660 million dollars, the Fenway ownership group have benefited nicely from the teams success over the last 20 years.
The new Nantucket Henry estate is gorgeous and looks like something you would see on Netflix’s Selling Sunset, minus the beautiful California sightlines.

Henry can now add another prime piece of real estate to his portfolio.
I am not going to tell someone how to spend their money, but Red Sox fans will surely criticize this purchase. Rafael Devers and Xander Bogaerts have contracts that need to be addressed and fans will likely look at his new purchase as a disregard for the baseball team.
Henry’s purchase on his new home is not related to what the Red Sox will do on the field. However, sometimes perception is reality and Sox fans will voice their opinions as Henry focuses on more things that has nothing to do with his baseball team.
