This will be a new feature here at Beyond the Monster where I (@soxspectsportal) will recap what has happened around the Red Sox minor-league camps.
First and foremost, this weekly ran notebook will be fan-engaging. What does that mean? Fans, via Twitter, can send their questions in every Monday and the questions and answers will be featured on the weekly notebook section.
Secondly, the notebook section will breakdown promotions, game scores, and other updates around the Red Sox farm.
On todays edition of the notebook, we take a look inside the Red Sox affiliates from May 31. Three of the four affiliates played games with Salem being off on Tuesday due to playing on Monday’s
All three affiliates went to extras, but only one team won — Worcester — Portland and Greenville lost in 10.
Worcester knocked off Syracuse 9-8
Christin Stewart went three-for-five with a homer (8) and three RBI (22). Ryan Fitzgerald went one-for-three with two RBI (41). Connor Wong walked it off for Worcester with a double, his fourth of the year.
Portland falls to New Hampshire 6-5
Christian Koss was the run producer for Portland as he hit a grand slam and then had an RBI single in the 10th to give the club the lead. It was his fifth homer of the year. He went two-for-five with five RBI (30).
Greenville falls to Winston-Salem 12-11
Joe Davis hit his seventh home run on a one-for-three night. Ceddanne Rafaela was the highlight of the game for the Drive as he went three-for-six with four RBI (34).
All four clubs will be back in action on Wednesday.
