Providence Bruins forward Marc McLaughlin left the ice on Sunday covered in blood. This was following a fight with Lehigh Valley Phantoms forward Garrett Wilson.
With a 1:17 remaining in the third period, McLaughlin and Wilson exchanged fists, but it appeared the Bruins forward caught the worst of the fight.
McLaughlin looked like he lifted the stick of Wilson prior to the scrum. Both players agreed to drop the gloves and Wilson unloaded on McLaughlin.
The 24-year-old may have cut his head on his visor from his helmet. He is not a very experienced fighter.
The Billerica native has only 39 penalty minutes this season, this was his first five minute major. The former Boston College standout earned 15 penalty minutes in the contest, including a 10 minute game misconduct.
