Prospect Watch: Miguel Bleis getting the call to Salem?
Bleis has quickly made a name for himself
Now that some dominos have started to fall in the aspect of Red Sox top prospect Marcelo Mayer and the clubs number six prospect Blaze Jordan from Low-A Salem to High-A Greenville, the question now is when will the Red Sox promote Miguel Bleis? That time could be soon.
According to a source close with Beyond the Monster stated that Bleis could be promoted to Low-A Salem “really soon”, but also did not rule out Bleis finishing the season in the FCL, then start the season in Low-A next year.
Bleis, 18, is ranked as the Red Sox number 14 prospect.
In his early two-year career, the young outfield prospect has hit .279 with nine home runs and 44 RBIs. He’s also recorded 25 stolen bases along with 20 doubles and five triples.
This season in the FCL however, Bleis has really turned it up a notch.
Through 39 games played in FCL he is slashing .301/.353/.542 with an .895 OPS with five home runs and 27 RBIs. He’s also recorded 18 stolen bases and 14 doubles and four triples and has scored 28 times with 46 hits in 153 at-bats.
His ETA to the majors according to MLB Pipeline is 2025. He will be around 21-years-old at that time if he makes his debut in the majors in ‘25.
Bleis signed for $1.5 million out of the Dominican Republic in January 2021, securing the largest bonus in Boston's 2020-21 international class.
