Patriots re-sign wide receiver and kick returner (report)
Jalen Reagor is the second wide receiver to re-sign with New England
The Patriots are remaining busy on the first day of legal tampering in NFL free agency.
According to Bleacher Report, the Patriots are re-signing wide receiver Jalen Reagor to a one-year, deal. The 25-year-old caught seven passes for 138 yards last season, his first in New England.
Reagor also provides versatility on the Patriots roster utilizing his speed as a kick returner. The four-year veteran made an immediate impact for the Patriots in the return game, replacing Ty Montgomery. He ended up averaging 31.6 yards per kickoff return last season. His biggest highlight was a 98-yard kickoff return touchdown in Buffalo against the Bills.
The former first round pick by the Eagles has never lived up to his draft position but has shown flashes of brilliance at times on the gridiron.
He initially joined the Patriots last season when he was signed to the practice squad. Reagor is the second wide receiver to return, Kendrick Bourne agreed to terms, while Devante Parker has been released.
The legal tampering period opened Monday at 12 p.m. ET. The new league year will follow Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET.
