Patriots bring back offensive lineman Conor McDermott
The Patriots signed offensive lineman Conor McDermott during the 2022 season and today announced they will bring him back for 2023 season.
Jim McBride of the Boston Globe reports that the Patriots and McDermott have agreed to terms on a new contract.
McDermott signed with the Patriots in November and he started the final six games of the year at right tackle.
“Thank God we have him,” Patriots head coach Bill Belichick back in December. “He’s done a good job. He’s been dependable and tough. He’s been out there, been durable.”
The Patriots initially selected McDermott in the sixth-round of the 2017 NFL Draft. During his tenure in the NFL, McDermott has spent time in the Bills and Jets organizations.
McDermott’s NFL career has included 12 starts and one receiving touchdown across 49 appearances.
The 30-year-old provides depth on the offensive line with Isaiah Wynn and Marcus Cannon expected to be free agents this spring.
